here I am putting some experiences of BIMM GD/PI……!!!
Well, I think I never did work so long in my life ever before…..!!!
First thing first …..i am jotting down the stages of their selection process….!!
1. INTERVIEW( 9 AM )
2. MARKS VERIFICATION
3. GROUP TASK 1
4. GROUP TASK 2
5. GROUP DISCUSSION
6. MAKE AN ADD.
7. GOSSIP ROUND
8. TEA BREAK (9 PM)
Interview centre was chandigarh ….in president hotel. I wake up around 6 am in morning …..did usuals …..and dressed up formally….!!! I was ready for the process exact at 7:30 …!!
First of all we all have to register ourselves….!! Then we were sent in big hall….around 500 guys were present there….!! There was a podium so …I understood that surely someone gonna make his philosophy…!!
Then one skinny guy came in ….with mike in one hand and nervously murmuring something to test that mike is working properly. After getting his comfortable zone…he dared to say something….!! He asked – do we know corporate claping..??? ( oh god ..why the hell…oh come on who is he?? ….nyways who sent him there)
Everyone said ..yes, we know …!!! Then he asked to clap ….!! And everyone did that…!!!
After few minutes …MR. balasubramanaym ( cant spell it) with his gang……!! All were looking like south Indians….!!! Infact all were…!!!
He made his speech around 30 minutes…..cleared everything ..from admission process to placement ……the best part of him was that he was telling the truth ….!! He said placement scenario is worst…so why you want to do MBA…..?? think about other options or something else…!!( hey god….its like one milkman is saying my milk is contagious)
He was telling truth because …he had the veracity in his blood……!! As far as he presented himself…there was no hyper hoola….no gimmicks…simple and straight forward man …!!! Put everything in front of you ......!!
His preaching was good….we enjoyed that …..!! but long was making that tedious..!!!
No more beating about the bush …..coming to the point ….yes ..here is the summary of my interview…!!!
There were two guys there ….p1, p2….they were witting left to right ….in room…!!
P1: so you are from DN college hisar….!
Me: yes sir…!!
P1: who was dayanand??
Me: he was a social activist..and improved the hindu religion in india…( oh god…who was he???)
P1: when did ur college get established????
Me: 1964 errr ( oh thanks god..i visited my college website once..)
P1: who is GIRIJA VYAS???( P2 WAS LEAST INTERESTED)
Me: sir, she is the head of women….err….and she is from congress…!!
P2: tell us about urself???
( oh ….gurudev…apko pata chal gaya interview chal reha hai)
Me: sir, I am rajesh, I did my graduation from dnpg collg….in biotech ….!!i participated in …blah blah…do surf internet ….read articles….write bolgs……love to make collage( kal raat ko he banaya hai) ….dance is leaisure time …because it impart creativity and concentration ….( bus kar bhai)
P1: SO ….wat you write in ur blogs???
Me: sir, recent blog was about collapsing of satyam..(unko ye thore na kahunga ki love poem liki hai)
P2: so …wat you think …wat happened to satyam???
( wow…es se acha kya ho sakta hai )
Me: I explained each n everything to them …..!! and said sir , I think corporate governance is not that effective in india that’s why the biggest fraud of our history happens…!!
P1: WAT is corporate governance…???
Me: it is a government body which ensure that everything goes smooth in corporateworld….and keep eyes on fraud like satyam.. and make sure every company sud not forge their balance sheets…and corporate affair minister is premchand gupta…!!
P2:who are independent directors….????
Me: ( ye kya hai yaar…kitna kuch to bata diya …ab b )
Sir members which do not hold share in company but they give advice and ensure company is following code of conduct and ethics…err…
P2: do they take salary???
Me: ( yaar kaam karte hai to paise to lenge he)
Yes sir…
P1: who was indepdent director of satyam ???
Me : sir, he was a professor …cant recall name…
P1: ok ….
P2: who is chancellor of germany ??( are you mad, sir??)
Me: Camilla……
P1: so which specialization you want to do ??
Me: finance
P1 but you are from biotech…..( mujhe pata tha salo ye to jarur puchoge)
Me: sir ..i am interest in finance…and may be I don’t have degree but I am aware of everything in economics..!!
P2: wat is repo rate??
Me: interest that RBI gives to commercial and publice bank …
P2: wat is revrse repo ??
Me interst given by commercial bank to RBI ..
P2: who is finance minister???
Me : manmohan singh
P2 : who is father of economics???( oye vo to mujhe biotech ka b nhi pata )
Me ..cant recollect now..
P2:water is so useful and must for survival …and diamonds are useless for life..even then diamonds are so costly why ??
Me: water is abundant is amount but diamonds are rare…so
P2 : wat is relation between inflation and liquidity ???
Me : directly proportional ….more liquidity …more inflation
P1: so MR. rajesh …wat you want to do in your life??? ( yaar ..kaise bataun …tujhe ….)
Me:after doing MBA, I will do job for 2-3 years and then I will try to implement my ideas…!!
P1 :do you have any idea??
Me: still don’t …but working on that ….i want to do something for the society in long run …!!!
P1: ok ..thank you mr. rajesh …you can leave now….!!
Me : ( bus ho gya)
Sir I have brought some collage ..that I have made recently …if you want to have a look…
P2 : sure sure…..see me ..!!
Then for 10 minutes ….thre was big silnce in the room ….!!
After that …they asked evrythign that I wrote in collage….
P2: how many terrorist were in mumbai ???
Me: sir around 9 ….and only one was cought alive: ( kal raat ko he pada tha)
P2 : which location they targeted….??
Me : taj palace..tower, hotel trident …nariman house..( are yaar kal he collage banaya hai to )
P2: wat sud be steps to curb terrorism ???
Me …told them about NSG…!!! TOLD ABOUT home land security department of US…WE SUD ALSO HAVE LIKE THAT….TOLD ABOUT INFORMATION AGENCIES…AND THERE COLLABORATION …!!
He also asked about reliance IPO, indo china relation …..taiwan …barak obama…..( collage mein tha sara bata diya tha)
I guess that was the end..they offered me a toffee and I left..I had left my pen behind..
P2 - you may wnat your pen also.
Me - Saying Thank you sir again and again to them and leave.
Felt very good after the Interview was over...I had actually prayed for a stress interview, I knew I woudnt get stressed..they tried a lot to psyche me out..and I never felt the faintest hint of stress ..I never felt that these were BIMM profs..they were just good as any bunch of guys to me..I was cool and smiling throughout and put my points well and was reasonable.. finaly accepted what I had to say..at times I was a bit forceful..but never angry or loud or disturbed..whatever natural force my personality may have..it all flashed there..and then they had to listen.
But now looking in retro..I am worried about the acads part..thats what BIMM stresses on most. I am ok with x. xii…but there is obvious fall in graduation marks…..
